description: Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan (VA CRMP) coastal flood depth grids. Represents the flood depth at any given location, as calculated by subtraction of the ground elevation from the water surface elevation. The water surface elevation source for this product was derived from the NOAA Vdatum tool (for tidal surfaces), or from the FEMA Region 3 storm surge study (for 50% to 0.2% AEP flood elevations). FEMA storm surge data represent the total stillwater elevation, which includes storm surge and wave setup (but not individual wave crest elevations). Data provided at a 10 ft horizontal resolution. Product names denote the time horizon (2020, 2040, 2060, 2080) and flood event (“mlw” = mean low water, “mhw” = mean high water, “reg” = 1.5 times mean tidal range, “002” = 2-yr recurrence interval, “005” = 5-yr recurrence interval, “010” = 10-yr recurrence interval, “025” = 25-yr recurrence interval, “050” = 50-yr recurrence interval, “100” = 100-yr recurrence interval, “500” = 500-yr recurrence interval). See VA CRMP Appendix C description of methods for data development and processes.
